GitHub Pages hosting

This website uses GitHub Pages for static hosting. Your browser requests pages, styles, scripts, character models, and animation files from the website host. Requests transmit your IP address and technical information such as the requested URL, time, browser information, and referrer where supplied. GitHub confirms that Pages records visitors’ IP addresses for security, including visits made while signed out.

The operator’s purposes are delivering the library and maintaining its availability and security. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: legitimate interests in providing a functioning public asset library and protecting it from abuse. GitHub describes its own processing in its privacy statement.

Recipients

Hosting recipients include GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. St., San Francisco, CA 94107, United States; GitHub B.V., Prins Bernhardplein 200, 1097JB Amsterdam, Netherlands; their service providers; and authorities where legally required. See GitHub’s provider list.

Retention

GitHub’s published criteria include processing purposes, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and agreement enforcement. Its documentation provides no specific Pages IP-log retention period. GitHub controls those logs; the operator keeps no additional visitor access log. See GitHub’s retention information.

International transfers

GitHub processes data in the United States and other countries. It describes EU-US Data Privacy Framework certification and standard contractual clauses as transfer safeguards. Their applicability depends on the transfer. Details and access to the clauses appear in GitHub’s transfer information. You can request safeguard information from GitHub’s data protection officer.

The European Commission’s EU-US Data Privacy Framework adequacy decision covers eligible transfers to participating US companies. Transfers outside that scope require another applicable mechanism, such as appropriate contractual safeguards.

Website features and external links

The application uses browser memory for playback and URL parameters for selected styles, animations, characters, and playback modes. It saves your music toggle, volume, playback mode, and each style's bars per move in local storage in your browser to restore your choices on future visits. You can clear these preferences through your browser's site data settings. It sets no cookies and includes no analytics, advertising, accounts, or contact form. Bootstrap, Three.js, animation assets, and music are served with the site. The operator uses no automated decision-making or profiling.

Following a source-download or reference link opens the linked service, which processes that visit under its own privacy notice. External services receive requests when you follow their links; this website embeds no remote content from those services.

Visiting is voluntary. Technical request data is necessary for delivery; blocking its transmission prevents the host from serving the site. Providing it is neither a statutory nor a contractual obligation.

Email correspondence

If you email the operator, your address, message, and any details you provide are used to respond. The basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, the interest in handling inquiries; Article 6(1)(b) applies to contract-related requests. Correspondence is retained until the inquiry is resolved, with further retention where required for legal obligations or claims. Email delivery involves the sender’s provider and the operator’s Gmail provider; see Google’s privacy policy for its recipients, retention, and transfers.

Your rights

Subject to the applicable conditions, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction, and portability. Portability applies to automated processing based on consent or contract. Where consent applies, you can withdraw it for future processing. Contact the operator above; for GitHub’s own processing, contact GitHub privacy support.

Right to object

You can object at any time to processing based on Article 6(1)(f), on grounds relating to your particular situation.

Complaints

You can complain to a supervisory authority, including in the country of your habitual residence, workplace, or the alleged infringement. The operator’s local authority is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
